In the comics (from
what I have read, I'll admit that I have not read all of them yet, when I
get others I'll expand on this section.), Jade isn't given much of a back
story. She isn't even shown to have much of a relationship with Kitana. She
works for Shao Kahn and her partner is Smoke. Even at one point she is shown
to be fighting the Princess, and repeatedly goes after the champions of Earth.
She is vicious, and almost down right cruel at times.
Jade is basically just pure evil in the comics, however it should be noted that the Malibu comics are in no way canon to the actual story. As far as I know Jade doesn't appear in any of the official comics.
